On June 6, 2026, the Center for Research and Advocacy Foundation, CRAF, observed World Environment Day in Soul Clinic, Paynesville City, through community clean-up, environmental education, youth engagement, and public awareness.

The event brought together young people, community members, volunteers, and partners to promote cleaner communities, responsible waste disposal, and practical climate action.

CRAF Observes World Environment Day 2026 Through Community Clean-Up and Environmental Education

The Center for Research and Advocacy Foundation, CRAF, successfully observed World Environment Day on June 6, 2026, in Soul Clinic, Paynesville City.

The observance focused on practical community action and environmental education. Participants joined CRAF in cleaning streets and public areas, collecting waste, and raising awareness about the importance of keeping communities clean.

The activity also created space for young people and community members to understand how poor waste disposal affects public health, flooding, sanitation, and community safety.

Following the outdoor clean-up, CRAF held an interactive indoor session with participants. The session focused on the meaning of World Environment Day, the importance of environmental protection, proper waste disposal, and the role of citizens in protecting public spaces.

Participants asked questions, shared experiences, and discussed practical steps that residents can take to improve cleanliness in their communities.

CRAF also recognized the presence of Clarence, representing the Compliance Unit of the Environmental Protection Agency, EPA. His participation strengthened the event and showed the importance of cooperation between civil society, government institutions, and local communities.

The World Environment Day observance reflects CRAF's commitment to protecting nature, empowering young people, advancing community education, and building climate-resilient communities in Liberia.
